Our Client, a Major international Oil and Gas, design and construction contractor is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to join their September 2024 Graduate intake scheme based in their Surrey offices.
Our Client encourages and supports all engineers in their professional development to achieve Chartered Engineer status.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum 2:1 Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
- You will ideally have had some experience working within an engineering organisation.
- Ability in communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues at work.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on results.
- Keen interest in developing technically and willingness to work towards a recognised chartered engineering status.
- A willingness to work in offshore environment during construction activities.
- Interest in performing advanced analysis work
- Ability to perform structural analysis and design tasks together with preparation of analysis documents and high quality structural design sketches used for the production of formal design drawings.
- Strong analytical skills.
EssentialExperience,Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrates commitment to the project
- Thorough understanding of metallurgical and mechanical properties of metallic materials.
- Willingness in learning fusion welding processes related to offshore structure with a view to act as welding coordinator
- Motivated in learning standard practices related to metallic material processing for the offshore industry
- Ability to prioritise work based on the urgency and deadlines as well as good decision making skills
- Communicates effectively both internally and externally.
- Requires strong theoretical background in ferrous alloys and corrosion resistance alloys (CRA), their chemical and mechanical properties as well as their manufacturing process in relation to alloys used in offshore wind farm structure and associate components.
