Description:
The Grant Writer will play a critical role in overseeing and facilitating proposal and grant writing services to the Nak’azdli Whut’en Administration offices. The Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying, managing, and securing funding opportunities that meet the goals and vision for the First Nation. The Grant Writer will work largely unsupervised and meet time sensitive application and reporting deadlines. The Grant Writer will provide support to all departments within the Band by assisting in identifying and collaborating on proposal writing. The Grant writer will be responsible for ensuring that the funding parameters are met and the proposal/funding cycle is complete.

Duties:
Research
- Identify funding opportunities through government websites, partner funding agreements, websites, and other sources.
- Gathers proposal information by researching grant opportunities from various government and non-government agencies in order to determine the eligibility criteria.
- Identifies, drafts, and submits grant proposals based on the funding requirements of the Nak’azdli Whut’en project nature and objectives.
- Conduct library and electronic research on potential funding sources.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of particular areas involved in identifying and soliciting grants; may collaborate with various internal departments.
- Research governmental, foundation and corporate grant programs and plans and write funding applications.
- Conduct interdepartmental meetings to identify and prioritize project needs, coordinate, and research grant preparation assignments.
