Position Type: Grants and Contracts Analyst
About this opportunity: Reviews and processes applications, grants, contracts, state licenses, internal program proposals and related correspondence relative to Social Services Programs throughout the division; works in conjunction with departmental staff to maintain administrative detail and data entry associated with the internal processing, tracking, and researching of contracting and collaborative documents and all correspondence required to facilitate public funding for Social Services Programs; performs complex and often confidential secretarial work with a broad scope of responsibilities; coordinates with the assigned staff in performing grants, contracts, and program proposals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to type and keypunch data into a computer with a high rate of accuracy in a timely manner. Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints. Ability to apply discretion and independent judgment and exercise confidentiality. Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism. Duties are usually performed seated relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
Working Conditions: Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures completeness and accuracy of all documents for processing through DFB; obtains the required signatures of approval; composes letters of transmittal indicating documents are returned and processed; requests documents and missing information.
  • Prepares agreements and program proposals for signing by stamping and flagging as applicable; provides recommendations to the Senior Grants Specialist and DFB regarding signature and approval by The Salvation Army and offer rationale for the recommendation.
  • Updates, posts, and indexes information and inputs data into the appropriate database to maintain records on all social services documents and compiles information into printed inventory, logs, lists, spreadsheets, etc. in an accurate, complete, and timely manner.
  • Prepares, photocopies, and distributes letters, supporting documentation, inventory lists, etc. as requested; retains current and relevant information in departmental files; records missing and received compliance information in the established bring-up system and inventory; maintains communication with the field and THQ to ensure timely processing of all social services program related documents.
