Description:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE GRANTS OFFICER II:

  • Four-year college degree
  • Proven experience as a successful grant writer with a track record of securing grants (2 years minimum)
  • Strong research skills and ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities to meet emergent needs
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and grant management software and tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated experience with governmental grant submissions, especially HUD, HHS, PCCD
  • Connections with local private grant-making foundations and organizations
  • Prior experience in youth servicesKnowledge and familiarity with research techniques for donor prospect research.

Responsibilities:

  • Proposal Development:
  • Collaborate with program managers and other team members to gather relevant information and insights for proposals.
  • Write clear, concise, and compelling grant proposals and letters of inquiry.
  • Ensure that all proposals are submitted on time and meet the specified guidelines and requirements.
  • Budget Preparation:
  • Work closely with the finance team to develop accurate and realistic project budgets for grant proposals.
  • Ensure that budgets align with the guidelines provided by funding organizations.
  • Grant Submission:
  • Submit grant proposals in a timely manner, adhering to all submission requirements.
  • Track donor contact, application and report deadlines, and grant status in donor database
  • Organize and maintain grant files in shared drive
  • Research Funding Opportunities:
  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other sources that align with the agency’s mission and programs.
  • Stay informed about current trends, priorities, funding guidelines, and eligibility criteria.
