Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in grid connection engineering or renewable energy development.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power systems, grid infrastructure, and renewable energy technologies.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and permitting processes for grid connection projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to assess grid connection requirements for renewable energy projects.
  • Conduct comprehensive site evaluations to determine the feasibility of grid connection and identify potential challenges.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications and design plans for grid connection infrastructure, including substations, transmission lines, and interconnection facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices throughout the grid connection process.
  • Perform grid impact studies to analyse the effects of renewable energy integration on grid stability and reliability.
  • Coordinate with grid operators to secure grid access agreements and negotiate terms for connection to the transmission or distribution network.
  • Manage the procurement and installation of grid connection equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and protective relays.
  • Oversee the testing and commissioning of grid connection systems to verify performance and safety standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams during construction, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor grid performance and analyse data to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies to address potential grid-related issues and minimize project risks.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends in grid integration and renewable energy to inform decision-making and drive innovation.
