Description:
The opportunity:
Randstad have partnered with an international project developer across all power generation with a vast footprint of projects in development, construction and operation in Australia. They are seeking a highly motivated Grid Connection Engineer with a minimum of 2 years work experience, bringing experience in engaging AEMO and Network Service Provides with a solid technical understanding of the National Electricity Market (NER) rule.
Reporting to the Grid Connection Manager you will be providing technical support to the Development Team across a number of renewable energy sites. Your key responsibilities and the experience you will bring includes:
- Preliminary analysis of grid data to assess connection locations
- Identification of grid opportunities within the National Electricity Market (NEM)
- Interaction with various internal and external stakeholders which will include AEMO, Network Service Providers and Technical Consultants through the grid connection process
- Managing the PSSE and PSCAD models and grid connection studies
- Using your expertise to provide design inputs to grid connection, substation, and collector network aspects of projects
- Minimum 2 years relevant work experience
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or relevant
- Strong understanding of the National Electricity Market (NEM) and Transmission Systems
- Generator and power systems modelling (wind farm modelling) experience with PSSE and / or PSCAD and / or Power Factory is highly valued
- Experience in the connection of projects to the NEM through the AEMO registration process
