Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Ramp Manager manages the day-to-day ground operations of our aircraft. The Ramp Manager ensures that our ground handling is delivered safely on time and consistently in line with Texel Air policies and procedures.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THIS ROLE INCLUDE:
- Consistently deliver highest possible level of customer service
- To pro-actively oversee Texel Air Ramp Operations by forward planning and taking responsibility for the job-in-hand
- To report all Ground Handling incidents/accidents and concerns using Texel Air’s Centrik reporting system.
- Briefing staff on Texel Air expectations and on relevant Ground Handling SOP’s.
- To develop strategies and recommend proposed changes to the current ramp and technical ramp processes where safety or performance issues have been observed.
- Identify hazards and possible safety or security risks and develop plans to reduce them.
- Oversee all Loading/Unloading Staff ensuring that all aircraft loading and unloading operations are carried out as efficiently as possible.
- Develop staff through capability development and coaching.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to improve work safety or security.
- Lead organisational change management.
- Modify ramp and technical ramp operations to align with technological changes, compliance changes and airlines expectations.
- Plan strategies to communicate changes to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Propose initiatives to enhance work productivity and innovation.
- Recommend new products and services.
- Work with airport agencies to enhance ground handling services standards and expectations.
- Liaising with external stakeholders and being the point of contact for key stakeholders regarding Texel Air Ground Operations.
- Attending meetings with external stakeholders, such as the airport safety committee etc.
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU MUST BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ramp Management Course Training Qualification is desirable.
- Dangerous Goods Course Training Qualification is desirable.
- Safety Management System Training Qualification is desirable.
- Working knowledge of GSE and ULD’s, is desirable.
- Proven experience in the aviation industry – primarily operational, but also commercial
- Previous experience managing a team of people and third-party
- At least 10 years experience within airport/ground handling operations, preferably from the cargo handling side
