ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Hydrogeology group is a team of water related experts responsible for delivering technical excellence focused on unlocking opportunities and mitigating water-related risks across our Pilbara operations at all stages of mine development, from concept through to feasibility, implementation, operations, and closure.
We are looking for a Groundwater Modeller to join our groundwater modelling team within Rio Tinto Iron Ore. As a part of the Hydrogeology Department within the Resource Development Division, your role will be to provide groundwater modelling support in the provision of hydrogeological services that contribute to the management of water related risk at our iron ore mine sites in the Pilbara.

Reporting to the Superintendent Groundwater Modeller, you will:
- Work on groundwater modelling projects using a variety of software platforms
- Undertake the development, construction and maintenance (reconciliation) of mathematical flow models to support hydrogeologist in the assessment of environmental impacts, management of mine dewatering and water supply requirements for mines
- Expand groundwater modelling and uncertainty analysis capability within the team
- Assist in GIS and spatial data management
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the mathematical modelling space
- Schedule works loads, including controlling costs and ensuring quality performance
