Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As a Group Accountant, you will be instrumental in shaping the financial landscape of our client’s organisation. Your responsibilities will extend beyond operational tasks; you will contribute to leadership initiatives, drive change management, and focus on continuous improvement to enhance overall efficiency within the team. You will manage full processes for month-end and year-end closing, oversee day-to-day accounting in Net Suite, assist with monthly reconciliations, manage direct reports, collaborate with other global accountants, mentor staff, ensure global compliance deadlines are met, drive improvements within the accounting function, assist with budgeting & forecasting, ad hoc reporting, analysis and research related to finance and business operations.
- Manage full process for month-end and year-end closing including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting in Net Suite.
- Manage the work delivered for group and local audits including preparation of statutory accounts.
- Implement and oversee a system of internal controls and perform internal audit of revenue-related processes used globally.
- Assist with monthly reconciliations and perform monthly review of reconciliations.
- Manage direct report(s), collaborate with other global accountants, mentor and develop team/staff.
- Work closely with the Leadership team to deliver reports, analyse findings, identify potential risk areas and forecast opportunities.
- Ensure global compliance deadlines are met and review global compliance filings including GST/VAT returns and FBT returns.
- Drive improvements and increase efficiency within the accounting function through collaboration and systems upgrades.
- Assist with budgeting & forecasting, ad hoc reporting, analysis and research related to finance and business operations.
The ideal Group Accountant candidate will bring a wealth of accountancy experience, with a minimum of 8 years operating within an accounting team. You will have a solid technical background, including consolidated reporting and statutory reporting experience, and familiarity with public company compliance and governance. Your experience in technology or professional services organisations will be complemented by your knowledge of revenue and lease accounting practices. As a proven leader, you have managed finances for multi-divisional international businesses and have up-to-date knowledge of best practices in accounting. A background in Chartered Audit and advanced proficiency in Excel are also required. A Chartered Accountant qualification is mandatory for this role.
