The Role
The Group IT Control and Compliance Manager will lead and oversee the testing of Athora IT process-based controls in addition to engaging in further testing of IT General Controls. This role offers the right candidate a unique opportunity to work as part of the Information Security team, championing the continued embedding of Athora’s risk culture across Group IT.

Key Contribution Areas

  • Support IT control monitoring activities relating to internal/external audit processes and regulators.
  • Map resolution and ensure appropriate level of reporting and escalation.
  • Identify compliance, information security and business continuity risks to the organisation and make recommendations for corrective actions/risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with existing subject matter experts and Service Providers to leverage and refine training and awareness programs and materials.
  • Work with Service Providers to ensure information systems adhere to corporate policies and standards.
  • Stay up to date on changes in regulation and on best practices for IT governance and compliance.
  • Partner closely with senior stakeholders across the business to identify, develop, implement, and maintain processes across the organisation to reduce information and information technology (IT) risks.
  • Assist with establishing and implementing IT operations, systems, policies, and procedures that align with business strategies.
  • Produce management and performance reports to an agreed schedule or upon request.

Functional or Technical Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Experience working directly in IT Control Testing and IT General Control Design and Operational development, testing and execution
  • Exposure to Governance aspects of IT Risk
  • Background working in a highly regulated environment
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and experience in implementing regulatory changes
  • Experience of completing maturity assessments and delivering required actions
  • Experience managing relationships with third party outsourced partners
  • Experience of writing standards and / or policies
