Description:

In this role, based across all Epworth sites, you will be responsible for the development and oversight of all ‘Early Careers Programs’ to ensure a consistent group approach to recruitment, on-boarding, education, and support for early years nursing staff. You will be part of the Education and Learning team and report to the Group Director, Clinical Education and Dean Nursing Academy

You will make an impact by:

  • Working with the Group Director, Clinical Education and Dean Nursing Academy Education Managers, Group Graduate Coordinators, and site-based education teams to ensure the development and implementation of strategically aligned education programs.
  • Overseeing the awareness, recruitment, induction, and program operation of the Early Career Programs.
  • Promoting a learning culture and ensuring education and clinical support provided is underpinned by a comprehensive quality improvement framework and contemporaneous pedagogical principles.
  • Supporting strategic initiatives to meet the ongoing development needs and grow the future workforce.
  • Developing education strategies to bridge the gap between current and future workforce needs.
  • Contributing to the development of Epworth strategic and operational plans.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate exemplary communication skills and a clear understanding of professional nursing competency standards. The successful candidate must show the ability to multi-task, influence, and negotiate with a diverse range of people.

You will have:

  • A current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Proven leadership and management experience
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in Nursing Education including demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate education programs based on contemporaneous pedagogical principles
  • Proven success in managing previous projects and programs with new graduates
  • An excellent understanding of the professional nursing competency standards, code of practice and professional nursing requirements
  • The ability to develop and motivate individuals and teams through coaching and positive role modelling
  • A consultative and respectful leadership skills and a proven ability to negotiate and influence
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and deliver agreed outcomes
