YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY CRITERIA:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with a background in off-site manufacturing processes, preferably within the construction industry as a General Contractor and/or Mechanical/Electrical sub-contractor.
  • Degree in engineering or construction management. Relevant experience with trade background will also be considered.
  • Project management skills - The ideal candidate should have experience managing modular projects from tender stage to execution.
  • Leadership Abilities: As the owner of all off-site manufacturing within the company, the candidate should demonstrate strong leadership skills. They should be capable of building and leading a team, as well as collaborating with various business units within the organization.
  • Strategic Thinking: We are looking for candidates who can think strategically about modular construction and its implications for the company’s overall strategy. You should be able to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in OSM practices. • Technical Competence: A clear understanding of modular construction processes, including testing, commissioning, and installation, is essential.
  • Communication Skills: The candidate will need to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally. This includes sharing knowledge within the organization and building relationships with suppliers and partners in the OSM supply chain.
  • Flexibility and Willingness to Travel: Since the role involves traveling to Europe in support of business units’ modular construction strategies, candidates should be comfortable with travel and possess the flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: be adept at identifying and resolving challenges that may arise during the modular construction process. They should be proactive in finding solutions and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Responsibilities:

SCOPE OF THE ROLE:

This is a medium level position. As Group OSM (Off-site Manufacturing) Manager you will be the owner of all off site manufacturing in support of all business units within the Mercury Group. You will be centrally located working out of Mercury’s Font End Engineering & Design office at Kildare Innovation Campus, Leixlip. You will be required to travel to Europe in support of each business unit’s modular construction strategy as an when required. You will maintain, build, and actively share Mercury’s knowledge in Modular construction. You will also be pivotal in building Mercury’s OSM supply chain and sharing that knowledge across the Mercury Group. At Tender stage you will support Business units by developing the OSM strategy for that tender and when successful you will further develop that OSM strategy for execution supporting project teams as necessary. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of all aspects of modular construction delivery from the early stages of DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) to testing, commissioning, safe delivery, and installation. You should be able to highlight a clear track record of delivering on such modular projects

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

  • OSM scope development at tender stage supporting all of Mercury’s business units.
  • OSM execution and delivery in conjunction with various project teams across various sectors.
  • Bring consistency and standardisation to Mercury’s modular approach across the Mercury Group.
  • Integration of modular construction sequence into schedule development.
  • Assessing and Developing Mercury’s OSM supply chain.
  • Fabrication sites identification, set up and development.
  • Provide leadership, further support and educate the wider Mercury group and all its business units in all areas of Modular construction i.e., designing for modular construction (DFMA), Planning for modular construction, delivery & execution.
  • Develop, Manage and publish OSM KPI’s on a monthly basis.
  • Assist Project Teams in managing the OSM quality expectations of the project in the fabrication facility, providing guidance to ensure we are compliant to all relevant standards/codes and associated specifications.
  • Assist Project teams ensuring works are fabricated in accordance with Project specifications and to the Project QA plan (for e.g., pre-agreed benchmarking).
  • You will be responsible to support and coach junior engineers assigned to OSM delivery.
