Job Description
This is a newly created role following Fastmarkets separation from a FTSE 250 PLC. The role will be responsible for establishing and running the core processes for a stand-alone group to deliver the year end audit and Group Financial Statements as well as the month end consolidation. The role requires strong technical experience of ensuring compliance with IFRS.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.
EXPERIENCE
- Qualified accountant (at least 3 years post qualified experience)
- Preparation of UK group and entity management accounts
- Good understanding of and experience with IFRS
- Strong excel skills
- Skilled at using finance ERP systems (Netsuite and Anaplan experience desirable)
- Good understanding of subscription and data business models for information services (desirable)
- Experience working in a private equity owned environment (desirable)

- Strong stakeholder management skillset and a natural collaborator
- Can challenge current practices and think innovatively in executing work
- Able to work independently and manage multiple tight deadlines
- Able to solve problems with creative and pragmatic ideas and uses sound judgements based on risk assessment
- Attention to detail, ability to rapidly understand end to end business operations and inherent risks

Responsibilities:
- Managing the year end process to deliver the Group Financial Statements within 2.5 months of year end (year end is 30 September)
- Managing the relationship with the Group auditors
- Preparing the Group and UK entity financial statements
- Month end responsibility for consolidation and cashflow reporting including accounting for foreign currency, debt, pensions, share-based payments and tax
- Technical accounting lead - ensuring compliance with IFRS accounting standards and being the lead on sharing technical updates with the wider finance team
- Develop and ensure compliance with the Group accounting manual
- Working with the Internal Controls Manager to develop and strengthen the controls framework
- Working with the Group Tax Manager to develop efficient processes to support the tax calculations both for compliance and accounting purposes.
