Group Senior Manager - Marine Insurance

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

To design, negotiate, manage and administer appropriate global and operation-specific insurance contracts to ensure sound and cost-effective cover is in place in conjunction with the Group SVP Group Insurance, Group Manager Group Insurance and other Group Insurance personnel.

• Provide timely day to day support for DP World Marine services and any other DP World departments that rely on Marine insurance products.
• To manage claim processes of any significant claims, arising under these programmes.
• To provide a range of risk management support services to help manage risk at source.
• To provide management services for other insurance policies as and when required including those outside of standard Marine insurance policies, with guided support.

Other:

• Manager responsibilities for 1 direct report.
• Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
• Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Substantial marine insurance experience in excess of 15 years
• Technical insurance management and commercial acumen;
• Strong technical contract review experience
• A good understanding of the emerging trends and developments in insurance management
• Experience of working in multi-national organizations
• 5 years exposure to international operations and working in a multi-cultural environment.
• High ethical standards
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills, both externally and at all levels of the organisation
• Ability to adapt to an ever changing business environment
• First class “customer Service” approach to internal stakeholder issues, queries with a mindset to solve problems
• Appropriate professional qualification and membership of internationally recognised Insurance or Risk Management body
• A strong commercial mindset to negotiate insurance renewals, and maximise insurance solutions for the Group
• A team player that is able to connect well with other members of Group Insurance, key internal stakeholders and the wider broker / insurance market.
• Strong communication skills
• A natural ability and desire to teach and mentor direct reports and others within DP World
• Ability to engage, coordinate, inspire and manage project teams as required

We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and experienced marine insurance specialist to join our global insurance team as a Group Senior Insurance Manager, based in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in maritime insurance, including P&I, Cargo, Hull insurance, Ship Repairers and Charterers Liability for a number of DP World business units. This role requires a deep understanding of maritime law and claims processes, as well as excellent analytical and negotiation skills. The chosen candidate will be responsible for managing complex insurance policies, responsible for contract reviews, handling claims, negotiating insurance renewals and managing direct reports (1 to 2). The role requires a collaborative team mindset in order to form an integral part of a plus 50 person global insurance team.
