As Group Tax Counsel you will be part of the Tax Team and you will, together with your colleague, be responsible for corporate tax matters, transfer pricing, VAT, local taxes and customs (questions on a daily basis as well as projects).
In your role you will focus on transfer pricing and work together with your colleagues of the Group Tax Department, the legal department, the local finance departments and other central and local departments. You will also collaborate with external advisors and external auditors.
You will get the opportunity to have a taste of the other tax areas which are not your focus, such as corporate income tax, VAT, customs and gain knowledge and experiences in these tax matters.
You will report to the Group Tax Manager.
Your key responsibilities and challenges are:
- Prepare and review transfer pricing compliance (master file, local files, local forms, country by country reporting etc.) for the Vandemoortele Group and ensure timely completion and filing;
- Prepare and review financial analysis and benchmark studies;
- Prepare and review mid year and closing transfer pricing calculations and further automate these where possible;
- Prepare the intercompany agreements together with the legal department;
- Monitor the Vandemoortele’s transfer pricing policies and business models and suggest where needed transfer pricing improvements/changes;
- Assist in and lead transfer pricing audits;
- Assist and manage transfer pricing litigation (claims, litigation, mutual agreement procedures);
- Prepare, file, discuss and obtain transfer pricing rulings;
- Support and advice business and group projects on transfer pricing aspects;
- Prepare and lead transfer pricing projects;
- You manage ad hoc assistance from external advisors;
- Ensure DAC6 reporting compliance for the Vandemoortele Group.
For this exciting role you will be working at our HQ, the Food Experience Center, in Ghent.
ARE YOU THE ONE WE’RE LOOKING FOR?
- You hold a Master degree in Law or Economics/Business Administration combined with an additional Master Degree in Tax;
- You have a good knowledge of transfer pricing, corporate income tax and you understand accounting. Having notions of VAT is a plus;
- You have at least 5 years of experienc in transfer pricing;
- You have a good and quick business understanding of related areas and of the business;
- You’re able to manage numerous projects simultaneously, often under deadline pressure;
- You have good analytical skills and are able to analyse financial data and law/regulations;
- You are able to translate legal obligations into workable solutions;
- Your excellent communication and networking skills enable you to engage your internal stakeholders;
- You are proactive with good organisation and planning skills. At the same time, you are pragmatic, problem-solving and looking for initiative;
- You like working together in a team, but are also able to work autonomously;
- Furthermore you are flexible, driven and open to receive and give challenges;
- You have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint). Knowledge of SAP is a plus;
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, in English, Dutch and French.
