We are now seeking to appoint a GSE Assistant Engineer to join us on a permanent basis.
THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES ARE REQUIRED:
- Mechanical aptitude: You should be comfortable working with tools, understanding basic mechanical systems, and following technical instructions.
- Ability to troubleshoot: You’ll need to identify basic problems with GSE and assist mechanics in diagnosing issues.
- Understanding of safety procedures: Working around GSE requires strict adherence to safety protocols and proper use of PPE.
- Understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems: While not always required, basic knowledge in these areas can be helpful for troubleshooting and understanding GSE functions.
- Full UK drivers license.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of ground support equipment, including tugs, tow tractors, ground power units, de-icing trucks, and other airport machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure equipment is operational and safe.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential problems before they affect operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and time spent on each task.
- Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure timely completion of work orders and effective communication regarding equipment status.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Stay updated on the latest industry standards, equipment technologies, and best practices.
