JOB SUMMARY:

The Front-End Sales Associate is responsible for guest services and sales at Fisherman’s Wharf. This role includes selling tours, opening/closing the office, checking in guests, taking reservations, and collaborating with boat Captains, Naturalists, and other staff members to ensure smooth tour operations. The focus of this position is on front-end sales, specifically sitting in the “hot seat,” which is our main sales area in the front kiosk, engaging with people passing by. The ideal candidate is dynamic, well-spoken, outgoing, enjoys interacting with people, excels at sales, and thrives in a team environment. Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Guest Services/Sales Skills: the ability to sell tours is essential.
  • Computer Skills: basic computer skills required for processing reservations, managing customer information and using a point-of-sale system
  • Basic knowledge or interest in marine wildlife.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends

Salary:

  • Wage range is $23/hr – $27/hr, determined based on internal wage structure formula.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with all individuals passing by the office on the dock.
  • Answer questions and close sales via walk-by traffic.
  • Be interested in whales, wildlife and conservation.
  • Take guest reservations accurately and completely.
  • Check guests in for tours and assist with the distribution of inclement weather gear.
  • Communicate effectively with other staff to ensure smooth tour operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist other staff members as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the office and surrounding dock space
