Responsibilities:

The Women’s is Australia’s leading independent specialist hospital for women dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of women of all ages and cultures, and newborn infants. The Women’s is a major teaching hospital with strong affiliations to the University of Melbourne, with research and education integral to its role. The Women’s serves an annual cohort of 80,000 patients, delivering more than 7,000 babies. The Women’s is the tertiary referral centre for high risk obstetric patients in Melbourne and further afield in the state of Victoria and Australia-wide.

The Fellow will provide care:

  • in consultation with supervising consultants, as deemed appropriate.
  • In accordance with the published Junior Medical Staff rosters, which may vary from time to time, unless directed otherwise.
  • By incorporating the best available evidence regarding quality and safety, including RWH Clinical Practice Guidelines.
  • Through effective communication with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • With accountability for care delivered by junior medical staff under supervision or delegation.
  • Comprehensively, ensuring timely record-keeping, discharge preparation, and communication with referring practitioners and those providing ongoing care.
