POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the QA manager, the HACCP Coordinator is accountable for implementing and maintaining the HACCP program and to ensure that the Company’s objectives for food safety, quality and regulatory compliance meet or exceed Regulatory requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage Sofina HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) program which includes maintaining, implementation and verification of procedures, documents, validations, processes and perform reassessment to ensure compliance to regulations;
  • When there is deviation, responsible for reporting and recommending corrective actions and preventative measures based on root cause analysis to implement compliance;
  • Development of training material and conduct training on food safety and quality requirements for management and associates;
  • Accountable for preparation and participation in all internal/third party/CFIA audits;
  • Maintain professional interaction with third party auditors /CFIA/Contractors and assist CFIA with CVS Tasks;
  • Cover for QA Manager and QA Technician vacations and be able to lead the team of Quality Assurance Technicians in absence of the QA Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma/ Degree in Food Science, or a related discipline with three to five years of food safety related experience is required experience is required;
  • HACCP Certification required;
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, GFSI, Quality Regulatory requirements and systems;
  • Strong computer knowledge and ability to work with various programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
