An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, either experienced or willing to train, to join our existing team of 7 ANPs working across, inpatient, outpatient day unit and ambulatory care.
You will be based in our hospital in Sutton
You should have experience in Haematology Nursing. You will have an oncology qualification or a qualification within the specialty.
You should also have excellent interpersonal skills and a professional manner, be able to prioritise and organise your workload, work under pressure and a commitment to patient centred care.
You will be expected to work both autonomously in both outpatient and inpatient settings, managing a caseload of patients, referring to the medical team as appropriate

This post is aimed at developing new ways of working for senior cancer nurses as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) in haemato-oncology. The ANP will integrate into the existing haemato-oncology team to carry out their extended roles which will include; routine management of the haemato- oncology patient, including practical procedures and the admission of haemato- oncology patients. This post will cover both NHS and private patients the ambulatory service. They will act as a highly specialised role model and leader for all members of staff, and play a major role in the continuous development of the services within the Trust and as a potential member of a range of trust quality/process improvement project groups.

Uses best evidence, advanced specialist skills, knowledge and expertise to provide expert clinical care
To integrate into the existing clinical structure and to support other professionals to manage the routine care of haemato-oncology in- patients by collaborating with other principle team members for both NHS and PP services.
The ANP will undertake routine advanced physical assessment of haemato- oncology patients including history taking, clinical examination, arranging relevant investigations (e.g. blood tests, radiographs) and prescribing
Presenting and attending Ward rounds – preparing Ward rounds / MDT/Outpatient lists in conjunction with the team. Reviews patients’ progress on a daily basis, recording any changes to their condition in the medical notes. Verbally communicating changes in care to relevant ward team.
The ANP will undertake routine management of the haemato-oncology patient including regular monitoring of these patients, communicating with the ward staff where clinical concerns arise and responsibility for ensuring timely / safe discharge.
Carry out clinical procedures, e.g. cannulation, blood sampling, bone marrow aspiration and other procedures relevant to specialty
