Description:
We are seeking a Registrar and/or HMO to join our clinical Haematology team commencing immediately for 4 to 6 months. No weekend or on-call requirements.
OPTIONS AVAILABLE
1.00 FTE (or 0.5 FTE) (Mon-Fri) Epworth Richmond
0.5 FTE (2.5 days/19 hours) Freemasons Clinical Haematology
Ideally looking for full time but will consider part time.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will work closely with senior Haematologists and have close involvement in the following activities:
- Daily ward rounds with consultants
- Inpatient management of patients with haematological malignancies
- Exposure to next-generation haematological therapies (such as CAR-T cell therapy) through clinical trials.
- Improve service delivery to patients by improvements in areas of patient blood management – preoperative assessment, transfusion management – acute and chronic and anticoagulant management.
- Review of haematology patients requiring chemotherapy administration & other procedures
- Medical Day Unit management (chemotherapy, transfusion, immunoglobulin, supportive care)
- Admission of new, review and clinical trial patients
- Outpatient evaluations in private rooms (new and review patients) – for the registrar position
- Teaching medical students
- Audit activities, multi-disciplinary meetings and treatment-planning meetings
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE…
You will have:
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Successful completion of the FRACP (Registrar position)
- At least one year as a medical resident (HMO position)
