Gourmet Food Parlour have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, enthusiastic, ambitious and strong Head Chef to join our team on our new adventure in our newly opening restaurant based in our Dunshaughlin Restaurant, in County Meath.
The Head Chef is responsible for ensuring that the standard and quality of the food production and the hygiene within the department is maintained at the highest level at all times. This role is very much hands on, requiring attention to detail and a positive work attitude.

Job Description: As the Head Chef at GFP, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, staff management, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation. You will work closely with the management team to create an exceptional dining experience for our guests and maintain the restaurant’s reputation for culinary excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior sous Chef in a high-volume, upscale restaurant.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Exceptional culinary skills with a passion for excellence and innovation.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and cost control.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the kitchen team, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop innovative and seasonal specials that reflect our commitment to quality and creativity.
  • Oversee all food preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  • Stay current with industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into the menu.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging growth and development among staff.
