About Mount Towrong:
Mount Towrong Vineyard is a small, family-owned vineyard nestled in the breathtaking Macedon Ranges, only 40 – 60 minutes from Melbourne. We offer a unique blend of stunning landscapes and exceptional wines, and we pride ourselves on our dedication to quality, sustainability, and innovation. We have a strong local following and a commitment to our community.
Our warm, welcoming atmosphere allows guests to enjoy delicious, locally sourced cuisine that perfectly complements our Italian-styled wines. We take great pride in sourcing quality produce from local farms to create fresh, seasonal Italian-inspired dishes that highlight the best of our region and our owners’ Italian heritage.
Current Operations and Future Plans:
We are currently open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays for lunch, providing a delightful weekend dining experience. However, we are excited to expand our operations, with plans to open additional days and add evening services in the very near future.
We are looking for a culinary leader who is ready to take on this challenge and drive our growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire our kitchen team to deliver high-quality, innovative dishes.
  • Work alongside our Venue Manager to develop and grow the business into the perfect offering for our guests.
  • Manage and develop a variety of menus, including seasonal a la carte, set menus and function offerings.
  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation and presentation.
  • Ensure the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness are maintained.
  • Establish ongoing relationships and collaborate with local suppliers and farmers to source fresh, seasonal ingredients.
  • Manage inventory, control costs, and maintain budgetary goals.
  • Train, mentor, and develop junior kitchen staff to foster a culture of excellence and teamwork.

Qualifications & Personal Attributes:

  • Have a love and passion for food!
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a high-quality restaurant or similar establishment.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a calm and graceful demeanour.
  • Exceptional culinary skills with a strong understanding of contemporary cooking techniques, trends and a keen eye for detail in dish presentation
  • Ability to create and execute a diverse, seasonal menu that showcases local produce.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a dynamic kitchen team.
  • Passion for sustainability and a commitment to using locally sourced ingredients.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Readiness to lead the charge in expanding our operations and enhancing our dining offerings.
