Description:

Expat Dental is looking for an experienced and talented Head Dental Nurse to join its team. The position is full time and will work at our Novena Medical Center clinic. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of dental nursing expeirence and be able to assist with a multitude of dental procedures. Written and oral proficiency in the English language required. Other proficiencies include the following:
Provide a high quality, professional patient experience by taking responsibility for comfort,
care and reassurance of our patients;
Take patient personal medical history/details and accurately record/chart data from
dentist/hygienist oral examinations and other treatments as guided and overseen by the
dentist/hygienist;
Prepare and sterilize instruments/kits and equipment for different dental and surgical
procedures;
Manipulate mouth/cheek access; aspiration to allow visible access for the dental
professionals;
Record, track and ensure proper and timely completion of in-house and outside technical
and laboratory cases for each patient;
Assist dentist and hygienist under their guidance to ensure accuracy of patient treatment, notes and charting;
Assist with more advanced dental procedures and simple dental surgeries; including, but not
limited to veneers, crowns, root canals, extractions, bone grafts and implants;
Ensuring that follow-up appointments and all treatment charges are communicated to the
practice receptionist team;
Meet and greet patients and direct patients to treatment rooms, introducing new patients to
the dental professional;
Effectively and comfortably converse with patients during appointments;
Record oral examination notes/outputs and recommendations for treatment of each
patient, as directed by the dental professional;
Assist in creating accurate and complete treatment plans for each patient under the guidance and instruction of the dentist when the treatment coordinator is unavailable to do so;
Safely and effectively clean, sterilize, chemically disinfect and autoclave all instruments on a
daily basis;
Prepare room and tray set-ups for commonly performed dental procedures, including
hygiene;
Clean and turn over rooms after each procedure;
Identify and properly handle all dental instruments;
Mix and set dental impressions;
Assist the hygienist with hygiene procedures; including, but not limited to recoding
perio-charting figures.
Prepare dental materials/compounds as indicated and overseen by the Dentist/Hygienist for
treatment/procedures;
Check and maintain cleanliness of all treatment room operations, with specific
responsibility for ensuring compliance with all relevant clinical standards, occupational
safety, health and infection control procedures and protocols;
Make bleaching trays, retainers and mouthguards under the oversight of the dentist;
Tracking of supplies in the clinic, ordering supplies, booking orders and use of supplies into
the practice management software
