We are currently seeking to recruit a Head of Air Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) with our Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) Business Unit. The preferred work location is Harlow, UK,.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

This leadership role will be responsible for managing the relationship between the Air Traffic Solutions (ATS) business of Collin’s Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) strategic business unit, and the Raytheon UK’s Air Traffic Management Systems team. The ATMS team delivers a varied range of US-based and international air traffic control radar programs from capture, development, integration, production, and support. ATS’s current customers are across the globe and we have ambitious plans to grow into new markets over our long range business plan.
The CAS ATMS Head, UK must be able to work at appropriate levels within CAS, ATS, and Raytheon UK, partner companies and the customer organization by engaging with key stakeholders and identifying and addressing their collective needs. An innovative and commercially aware approach will be critical to delivering success.
This role reports to the Communications and Surveillance Services Director within the ATS business of CAS.

MAIN DUTIES:

This is a complex and challenging role that is both highly rewarding and high profile, with extensive communication and interfacing with internal and external customers and partner organizations. It demands excellent interpersonal skills and high levels of energy and stamina. The role holder shall be required to:

  • Be the conduit for the flow-down of the ATS business objectives and strategic plans to the ATMS team, reporting the program execution performance, and management and reporting of P&L metrics to ATS for consolidation into the CAS portfolio.
  • Work as a key and active member of the CAS ATS team, collaborating to achieve overall business goals and objectives and contributing to both short and long term business planning and forecasting.
  • Facilitate complex problem-solving initiatives with technical competence and the ability to think through strategic solutions from the customers’, company’s and partners’ perspectives.
  • Work closely with the Raytheon UK’s Head of Sensors and other functional leaders to ensure ATMS business and growth objectives are achieved.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of CAS and ATS growth strategy.
  • Support the Business Development organization as the outward-facing leader of the ATMS team for customer engagements, with the aim of flawless program execution, and portfolio growth.
  • Participate in new business capture campaigns and manage staff assignments to develop winning proposals.
  • Work closely with the ATMS Lead to prioritize staffing assignments, review program plans and execution metrics, and engage with customers when required.
  • Lead, enthuse and motivate the ATMS team and implement business plans, growing to agreed targets and commitments.
  • P&L responsibility for the ATMS business including planning and delivering investments in line with budgets, agreed targets, and commitments.
  • Review and signoff of Estimate at Completion (EAC) and risk management for the ATMS programs.
  • Deliver ATMS within agreed budgets using Earned Value and other KPI techniques, delivering each contracted milestone to agreed performance, cost and schedule commitments.
