Cloud, Data and Infrastructure (CDIS) Architecture team provides best practices, standards and patterns for infrastructure and application deployments. We also help in defining and designing ANZ’s secure, scalable on premise and cloud platforms. We work closely with other key technology domains to enable the consistent adoption of infrastructure and cloud services. Architecture looks at the entire ecosystem that supports the use of on premise and cloud platforms, tooling, connectivity, data and security.

What will your day look like

  • Engage in complex transformation programs across a large number of technology areas and multiple vendors/system integration partners
  • Set strategic direction and architecture of capabilities including alignment to business objectives to strategic architecture to delivery
  • Drive the technology investment agenda to align with overall CDIS technology strategy
  • Act as a thought leader on emerging business models and technologies, articulating the digital future and enterprise’s role in it
  • Formulate compelling business cases for foundational technical capabilities within Infrastructure and Cloud and gain sponsorship from senior leaders
  • Understand business strategy and architecture needs, define innovative & sustainable architectures and roadmaps that enable incremental and continuous delivery of business value through Epics to Features
  • Manage an experienced onshore and offshore team of solution and platform architects
  • Coach, guide and develop people to build competency in architecture

What will you bring?

PROVEN EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING IS AN ADVANTAGE:

Lead an architecture team in an enterprise environment delivering to multiple business units and shared services.
Architecture Design: Ability to design scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant cloud architecture solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
Cloud and Data Centre Migration design and execution
Security: Knowledge of security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, network security, and data protection.
Networking: Understanding of cloud networking concepts, subnets, routing, load balancing, and connectivity options.
Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with infrastructure automation using tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Familiarity with cloud monitoring and logging services.
Performance Optimization: Skills to identify and implement performance optimizations for cloud resources, including compute, storage, and database services.
Disaster Recovery and High Availability: Knowledge of cloud services and configurations for disaster recovery and high availability including Multi-AZ deployments.
Data Storage and Databases: Understanding of various cloud database services like Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, and storage options such as S3, EBS, and EFS.
DevOps Practices: Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD)
Scalability and Elasticity: Ability to design and implement scalable and elastic architectures that can handle varying workload demands and scale resources accordingly.
Cost Optimization: Understanding of cost optimization strategies in cloud, including resource tagging, rightsizing, reserved instances, and monitoring cost usage.
Non-Technical
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, an ability to distill down complex information for senior executives.
Strong Financial skills; ability to understand whether solutions proposed have return on investment and to able to assist platform teams in ensuring solutions demonstrate economic value.
Build strong relationships with business strategy and key business and technology stakeholders.
Drive and oversee enterprise strategic initiatives to ensure strategic objectives are met in accordance with the defined strategy, patterns and blueprints.
Definition and maintenance of the business technology roadmap and guide businesses around technology impacts of business decisions.
Collaborate with the leadership team and peers within infrastructure and cloud architecture teams and wider ANZ technology organisation.
Provide thought leadership in the Architecture team and the Architecture community
Ability to influence, lead and implement technology change within a large complex global organisation.
Lead and manage an architecture team, with strong communications, team building, continuous learning, problem solving and strategic thinking.
Establish awareness of risk and compliance issues in the infrastructure landscape and take appropriate action to address.
