Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for someone with a background in industrial economics to lead up our Industry Service in the Asia-Pacific region. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years experience working in industrial economics. The candidate will write thematic research on industry and commodities topics related to the Asia-Pacific market. The candidate will also be expected to write quick reaction insights to news developments and how it relates to our outlook. As part of this, the person will interact closely with economists across our global macro/industry/commodities teams.
The person should have a deep understanding of macroeconomic and sectoral modelling and how this can be leveraged to meet our clients needs. The person will help develop relationships, providing optimal solutions for our clients and target logos. They will be expected identify how our services and expertise can fit into our clients interal business models and then liaise with BD to bring actionable results.
The candidate should have a flair for good writing, have strong quantitive skills, and be comfortable working with large datasets and complex economic models. The candidate would also need to be a confident presenter who enjoys communicating innovative research to clients, the media and other company stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Writing analytic research and presenting research themes on sectoral economics in the Asia-Pacific.
  • Interacting with economists/strategists across macro/industry/cities teams to maintain a integrated view of Asia-Pacific economics.
  • Presenting our industry outlook at round table events.
  • Engage with clients and other stakeholders to develop Oxford Economics’ Asia-Pacific industry business.Work alongside BD to cultivate and grow client relationships.
