Description:

Within the ZEISS Microoptics we optimize glass and transparent plastic surfaces based on a patent-protected IP platform using different micro-optical structures and holographic optical elements, enabling the integration and combination of different functionalities such as lighting, projection, filtering and detection.
Your role

In this function it is your responsibility to develop, sharpen, lead and execute go-to-market and business strategies to grow as the only supplier of comprehensive holographic solutions as a market shaping technology. Your key task are:

  • Scale the business towards a significant size and securing a big part of the value chain
  • Develop, support and consult key customers as well as identify, develop and manage partnerships with customers, Research and development partners and suppliers
  • Create product roadmaps and propose product developments for automotive, consumer, hometech and beyond (incl. deriving technology requirements)
  • Analyze trends; screen, identify and initially assess the competitive environment
  • End-to-end plan and lead negotiations ranging from IP over to full spectrum of complex partnership contracts
  • Build and expand the business development team for a fast-growing business that will grow to a revenue of several hundred million Euros with a strong focus on leadership and people development
  • Contribute to the ZEISS brand value by promoting this impressive technology

Your profile

  • Several years of verified professional experience as leadership professional in business development corporate development, ramping up dynamic, intercultural teams in small and medium sized companies
  • An educational background in the field of economics, engineering or natural sciences
  • Ability and willingness to dive deep on tech stack of advanced optics, holography technology and engineering to make high quality managerial decisions
  • Exposure to industry dynamics and technologies especially in automotive but also hometech and consumer electronics
  • Executive Management toolkit and experiences to deliver business results and tangible value creation for a business in a build-up phase
  • Strong commercial and customer-oriented mindset bringing our solutions and products to existing and new customers
  • Tactical and execution ability for complex negotiations in supplier, OEM context
  • ‘Hands-on-attitude’, structured, goal-oriented and interdisciplinary way of working and drive to assign and complete basic tasks yourself with analytical rigor
  • Very good knowledge of German and English (business fluent) and willingness to travel abroad
