The Purpose of the role:
The Head of Category Management at AB InBev is a leadership position within our Business Unit Central. This role is responsible for overseeing the category management function in two markets, Italy & Germany. You will report directly to the Commercial Director/BU Senior Management team.
The purpose of the role is to drive growth and profitability by developing and executing effective category strategies. This involves understanding consumer needs, market trends, and competitor activities to develop actionable insights and recommendations.
The role:

Category strategy

  • Develop and regularly renew category vision for each market.
  • Derive actionable retailer advice from the vision that are that aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • Lead category management conversations with key customers and build relationships to main Germany and Italian retailers.

Leadership and Team management

  • Lead a team of category managers to ensure effective execution of category plans.
  • Forster cross functional collaboration between all relevant sales, marketing and supply teams to achieve alignment behind category objective.

Market analysis

  • Analyze market data and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities and portfolio gaps across brands & formats.
  • Monitor and evaluate category performance and market share development, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in category management.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a leadership role within category management.
  • In-depth knowledge of European FMCG or beverage market and retail landscape.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English + German or Italian.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of driving business results through effective category strategies.
