Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) is looking for a Head of Cloud Platform
As our new Head of Cloud Platform, you will be responsible for leading a small team that operates with a Cloud-first and DevOps mindset, shaping and managing our Cloud footprint and delivering Cloud Platform services to product teams across the organization, including application, integration and Cyber Security teams. You will have an important role in defining and communicating the vision, strategy and roadmaps to lead, guide and inspire the team and stakeholders across the organization.
You will join a truly global team and work with our Cloud Platform, taking a key role to enable our cloud-native ambitions. We have recently redefined our Azure cloud footprint and are looking for someone keen to take a crucial role in continuing to shape the future of our Azure environment. We are continuously modernizing a diverse portfolio of applications and services for a truly automated, cloud-native, and CI/CD-led environment. You will work with technologies such as Azure, K8s, Docker, Terraform, GitHub, Elastic, and more.

What you will be working on:

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a comprehensive cloud strategy that supports our business objectives.
  • Cloud Architecture: Oversee the implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Policy Enforcement: Shape and enforce Cloud policies to ensure consistent and governed operations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product teams, digital projects, and external partners to align cloud initiatives with business goals.
  • Innovation and Modernization: Drive continuous improvement and modernization of our cloud platforms.

What we are looking for:

  • Leadership experience in guiding and assisting teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills, fostering a team-oriented environment.
  • Proactive, problem-solving attitude with ownership of issues and solutions.
  • Keen understanding of technologies that add long-term value.
  • Champion of Cloud-first and DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
  • Proficiency in Azure Public Cloud, PaaS, and IaaS Services.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability.
  • Experience with cloud optimization, cost control, management, governance, and security.
