HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS & IMPACT

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing, media, communications, PR or similar
- Relevant senior level communications experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of successful community engagement strategic that build trust.
- Exceptional communications professional with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Expert copy writer/proof-reader.
- Proven ability to translate complex information into meaningful content for a variety of stakeholders.
- Well-developed stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong project management skills, able to manage competing demands in a timely manner.
- Managing and developing of teams.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Head of Communications and Impact is responsible for leading, developing, executing, and reporting on the impact of the overarching internal and external communications strategy of CWH to position the organisation as a key leader within the affordable housing sector, and to improve community and stakeholder understanding.
This role will drive the long-term sustainability of the organisation by enhancing the communications function, whilst also leading a small team. The role will work in close collaboration with the CEO, Board, and senior leaders. As a member of the leadership team, this role will contribute to the long-term sustainability and strategic direction of CWH.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on the dynamic balance of strategic leadership, driving forward transformative projects and initiatives while still overseeing day-to-day operations with hands-on involvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and execute communications strategies for key initiatives that positively promote CWH and its impact to the community and stakeholders and supports the Strategic Plan.
- Take ownership of the end-to-end production of key collateral such as the Annual Report and Impact Report.
- Oversee the effective communication of CWH’s mission and achievements through production of media and outreach including: the Annual Report, Impact Report, social media, newsletter, the website, media relations and issues management, marketing collateral and promotional items, corporate and development events (including our Annual Resident Forum, branding, award entries and sponsorship, videos, and photography.
- Manage the work of the Marketing and Communications Officer.
- Assist in driving company culture and performance by modelling leadership practices.
- Monitor and report on performance, including identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement.
- Manage a designated budget and control of expenditure.
- Enhance CWH’s profile and reputation through developing and maintaining strong networks and relationships with key stakeholders, including media, government departments and public officials.
