Nib Travel (World Nomads) are looking for a Head of Compliance- UK and Europe to join our growing team.
The Head of Compliance is a leader and facilitator who will work closely with the business to drive and enhance a positive culture of risk and compliance across the UK and European business. Champion the efficient and effective operation of the risk and compliance function, and ensuring risk and compliance is embedded into the culture of what we do and how we can best assist our customers as well as ensuring we meet our obligations within the UK and European business.
This role has two direct reports and is expected to get involved in managing and implementing the Risk and Compliance function program of work.

  • Demonstrate leadership and initiative to engage with nib Executives and Business Unit Heads and partner with key stakeholders to provide timely and accurate Compliance guidance.
  • Assist the ‘Head of Compliance and Governance – Group’ to build and enhance the Compliance and Governance function across the nib Group.
  • Build a cohesive highly performing team.
  • Role model effective leadership practices.
  • Monitoring regulatory updates and assessing the need for changes to procedures for the business.
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory and industry developments by liaising with and building a strong network of external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to regulatory change initiatives through attendance at regulatory events and/or drafting submissions on proposed regulatory change.
  • Assist in the review, development and implementation of policies and procedures in line with nib’s Policy Governance Framework, specifically managing those policies and procedures related to the UK and European business.
  • Manage nib Travel (UK & EU)’s Fitness and Probity policy including assessment, reporting and notifications.
  • Assist to identify and prepare nib Travel (UK & EU) regulator notifications.
  • Review and provide regulatory compliance advice and approvals for nib Travel (UK & EU).
  • Overseeing all statutory record keeping requirements.
  • Providing regular reporting as required.

Let’s talk about you

  • Appropriate recognized qualifications (including the Professional Certificate OR Diploma in Compliance (ACOI)
  • Applicants should have experience in a PCF 12, PCF 15 or CF2 role in line with the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness & Probity regime
  • Minimum of 5-8 years’ relevant experience in the insurance industry with approx. 3-5 years’ in a Senior Management compliance role preparing Management Information and presenting reports to the Board
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory environment
  • Strong knowledge of the travel insurance industry
  • Strong knowledge of cross boarder requirements
  • Business partnering experience
  • A strong understanding of regulatory requirements for compliance within the financial services and/or insurance industry
  • Ability to interpret regulatory obligations and develop appropriate compliance policies, framework and ongoing monitoring regimes
  • Relevant degree qualification in a related discipline
  • Sound leadership skills with proven experience in managing a team and/or program of work
