Description:

  • 5+ years of management of technical, enterprise customer facing resources or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
  • Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.
  • Knowledge of enterprise services (Directory Services, Information Assurance, Virtual Desktop, etc.), products (i.e., Oracle, SAP) and frameworks (ITIL, TOGAF, etc.)

The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success.     The ANZ Head of Compute SA leads a team of Specialist Solution Architects (SA’s) that have deeper expertise inn domains, services, and solutions in the Core and Advanced Compute Services pillar. The team works in MDUs (minimum deployable units) that pair sales specialists and specialist SAs together, with the ratio varying depending on the needs of the domain area. The ANZ Specialist teams provide a critical acceleration service to customers, detailing service architectures and removing blockers for customer adoption. Working closely with GTM team, the specialist teams follow on from broad customer enablement by GTM or AWS Partner Network partners, to take action to accelerate specific priority opportunities for the ANZ business through technical validation. The market making teams collaborate with field marketing to execute local events, campaigns, and EBC support. The ANZ Specialist SA leaders are responsible for supporting customers in their technical domain area, using activities such as Architectural Reviews and Workshops to help customers formulate technical solutions to achieve the customer’s desired business objectives.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Specialist Solutions Architects across Core Services (Graviton, flexible compute, hybrid and edge, security, networking);
  • Interact at the CxO/VP level, as well as with developers and technical architects, to develop pipeline, secure lighthouse customers, drive top-line revenue, and explore strategic partnerships.
  • Lead your team to develop and deploy consultative workshops, solutions blueprints, customer proposals and offer development, internal and external collateral, Proofs of Concept, incentives, target customers, and success measures.
  • Collaborate with the Service and Technical teams to create solutions that solve customer problems, including reference architectures, patterns, automation, release plans, etc.
  • Build and contribute to thought Leadership technical assets
  • Contribute to Technical Field Communities (TFC’s) for relevant domains;
  • Support customers in the technical domain area, using activities such as Architectural Reviews and Workshops to help customers formulate technical solutions to achieve the customer’s desired business objectives.

A day in the life
Work with customer and account team members to understand specific technical blockers to using services to deliver customer business value. Work backwards from the customer’s intended use case to define and communicate leading practice technical options. Develop and share prescriptive architectural guidance based on customer successes.
