- Lead Pulsant’s entire data centre team (75+ people) across the UK
- Strategically important leadership role, driving improvement in Pulsant’s data centre operations

Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, the Head of Data Centre Operations will inspire and lead a team of around 75 people at a time of growth and investment. The role has responsibility for the overall leadership of data centre operations across all sites in terms of people management, mechanical and electrical engineering, energy efficiency and sustainability, systems requirements, process ownership and maintenance of the sites, delivering a high-quality client experience to meet or exceed their expectations. This is a largely on-site role and will involve regular travel across the data centres which are spread across the country.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a culture of safety ensuring all sites are operating strictly in accordance with health and safety best practice and security procedures, and that the environment is safe for all Pulsant team members, contractors, clients, and suppliers.
- Manage all financial planning and delivery for the team and the sites (OPEX and CAPEX), ensuring plans and operations are delivered within the approved budgets
- Ensure that the operating model is aligned to deliver Pulsant’s strategic goals for data centres.
- Lead, inspire and develop the data centre operations team (c.75 people), ensuring clear alignment of individual goals to company objectives and ensuring plans are in place to secure and retain the talent required to achieve our ambitions.
- Own and manage a consistent set of standards, procedures and reporting for data centres and ensure that this is implemented consistently across all sites.
- Define and implement an infrastructure lifecycle plan, setting our standards for maintenance and replacement of site infrastructure to maximise availability and manage infrastructure risk
- Define and implement efficiency improvement plans for all sites, driving plans and investments to ensure PUE improvements and other carbon reduction initiatives are aligned to our Net Zero goals.
- Ensure Data Centre inventory is actively managed to achieve the most effective space utilisation and work with the sales teams to maximising client opportunities.
