Novartis is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Head of Data Driven Decision Making. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and analysing data to provide valuable insights and strategic recommendations that will drive business growth and performance. As the single point of contact for professional analysis and modelling for data driven decision making, you will be responsible for driving the execution of priority analytics, strategic thinking, robust modelling, and planning. You will also be in charge of data sourcing and organization, creating and managing a common platform where all data from different sources and analysis are available. Your main responsibilities will include enabling the measurement and analysis necessary to support proper resource allocation for driving the performance of our priority brands. This will involve converting complex data sources into meaningful insights and visualizations, as well as supporting the organization in improving its capability for data-driven decision making. The goal of the department is to build new capabilities within the organization, enabling the new operating model designed for growth and performance. You will be expected to deliver the “basics” while also driving a spirit of innovation and smart risk-taking, pushing the organization to look at our business in new and more efficient ways.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • monitoring and forecasting market trends and the competitive situation, providing analytics support to Novartis internal customers, and executing detailed and professional analytics and insights that enable business performance.
  • You will also work closely with business and functional partners to build new tools, pilot new approaches, and enable the new capabilities needed for organizational success.
  • To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in data analysis and insights generation, preferably in a leadership role. Strong proficiency in statistical analysis tools, data visualization tools (such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik), and a solid understanding of data governance principles and best practices are essential.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics techniques, such as predictive modelling and machine learning, is also desirable.
  • We are looking for someone with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, who can translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities are essential, as well as effective communication and presentation skills to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data management and database systems, as well as familiarity with data privacy and security regulations, is important.
