  • Degree qualified or professional registration (IEng/CEng) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Post-graduate or professional qualification, e.g. chartered engineer status, desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role for engineering in an international business.
  • Experience and knowledge of the Offshore / Energy sectors
  • Experience setting and delivering medium and long term strategy, budget and resource plans.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a member of the Leadership Team, the Head of Engineering is accountable for all engineering and production across JFR, and responsible for supporting the Head of Operations, Head of Project Management and Head of APAC to deliver engineering outputs.
The Head of Engineering is accountable for the safe and effective execution of engineering and technical processes at all JFR and customer sites across the complete engineering lifecycle, from design development to end of life.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manages, develops a resource pool of engineers (HV, blade, cable) to achieve engineering excellence.
  • Integrate talent from JFR Academy into org. and replace relevant contractor roles with relevant FTEs.
  • Responsible for allocation and utilisation of engineering resources.
  • Optimise the utilisation of our people and assets to deliver efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provides engineering consultancy services through service lines.
  • Develops and implements in alignment with Product Development (PD) engineering solutions to improve competitiveness & sustainability (e.g. gross margin improvement, price increase, IP).
  • Develop technology partnerships in alignment with PD and Procurement Manager.
  • Define and manage JFR’s engineering management systems, governance, standards and processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and robust decision making on complex and varied engineering risks and solutions.
  • Management and adherence of the engineering function budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, supported by Legal & Compliance and HSEQS departments.
  • Lead the engineering team, achieving high levels of engagement, promoting a resilient, diverse, high performing team.
  • Interface with the JFS Business Excellence function to align JFR Engineering with the wider engineering strategy for the group, contributing thought leadership and best practice to shape the direction for JFS.
  • Implement and champion continuous improvement, driving a Lean culture and performance, supported by robust performance monitoring.
