Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Engineering to join our team and lead our engineering department. As the Head of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in the regional management of complex electrical and mechanical projects, assigning work and review of technical accuracy whilst maintaining responsibility for planning, directing, co-ordinating and supervising the work of direct reports, resources, and external contractors/consultants. You will drive innovation, implementing best practices, and ensuring the effective management of engineering and environmental aspects of our sites, landfills, waste facilities like transfer stations and material recovery facilities. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic leader who is passionate about sustainability and environmental stewardship.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10years+ engineering experience in the electrical or mechanical engineering industry or 5years from the solid waste industry (preferable).
  • Tertiary qualification/s (BE or equivalent) in electrical or mechanical engineering or similar.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer in NZ or equivalent is preferred.
  • Familiar with the use of CAD, and other civil modelling software.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and lead a team of Project Engineers and contractors on several multidisciplinary projects.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Project management experience with a strong focus on Health and Safety.
  • A high level of people and communication skills.
  • High level attention to detail and efficiency.
