Description:

  • 10+ years’ experience in marketing for a B2B technology company or agency with a proven track record in delivering world class events
  • Experience strategically leading, developing and executing large scale (5,000 + attendees) and complex events (e.g. multi-day, hybrid, sponsorship, multiple content streams) and budgets
  • Strong stakeholder engagement (internal and external) and communication skills with the ability to influence
  • Solid understanding of lead management and sales funnel management with experience in data handling, PII, and demand generation
  • Experienced in navigating large corporations with complex business structures and processes
    AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
    The Head of Events, AU/NZ for Amazon Web Services (AWS) is an analytical and creative leader who is capable of developing and executing large scale marketing events to support the ANZ business to achieve their goals through the education of customers and partners, and the creation of pipeline.
    This individual leads a large project team to execute events such as AWS Summit and AWS Cloud Days, including (1) 1x direct report (Event Marketing Manager) and contractors (2) field marketing roles like Partner Marketing, Campaign Marketing, Developer Marketing and Industry Marketing (3) external event agency.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define, develop, and execute the regional flagship event, AWS Summit. This will include defining the event theme and program in line with the business objectives, project managing the development of breakout session content, working with stakeholders and agencies to bring our products and services to life in the expo environment, working with stakeholders to create and drive compelling sponsorship opportunities, and overseeing the delivery of a world class event experience from registration through to post event follow up.
  • Demand generation tasks including outreach to existing customers coupled with net new contact acquisition through paid media channels  Work in close partnership with appointed agencies, managing budgets, timelines, and project deliverables
  • Post event reporting and analysis event activities and ROI
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships across all regional and global stakeholders
  • Ensure global consistency to brand guidelines. Support the wider ANZ Marketing team in the execution of smaller events which operate as part of wider integrated campaigns where necessary.
  • Dive deep data post-event to find insights, analyse performance, identify successes and failures to report back to the business and inform plan for future events
