    At Tennis Australia (TA) we are passionate about what we do, and we have ambitious plans to continue to grow our game from grassroots to Grand Slam! With a hyper focus on digital innovation, we aim to provide a world leading immersive and integrated digital experience for players, fans, and our own people through the effective design and delivery of digital products. To help us achieve this we are looking for a Head of Experience Design to join our Digital team as we embark upon our Digital Transformation.
    About the role
    Reporting into the Director of Digital, the Head of Experience Design will demonstrate value and grow impact by leading the Experience Design practice to design end-to-end (physical and digital) experiences that are impactful for all customer audiences at Tennis Australia, within the Digital COE of the Digital Transformation Program. With a focus on unified and personalised digital experiences and world class event and player experiences.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the Experience Design Practice within the Digital Centre of Excellence which includes building internal capability and managing multiple partner agencies
  • Cohesively align multiple design disciplines such as HCD, XD, Service Design, UX and UI to ensure the delivery of compelling and usable end to end experiences (digital and physical)
  • Lead the creative vision, strategy, and delivery of multiple design efforts enterprise wide, including the establishment of a new design system and application to multiple websites and apps
  • Be a visible leader in the creation of an inspirational culture, one that is built around the celebration of creativity, user-centricity, and diversity,
  • You’ll powerfully and simply communicate principles and methods in experience and visual design disciplines and have a strong command of related disciplines, including available research methodologies.
  • Implement, and govern Experience Design practices for the Enterprise,

About you
You will be a collaborative with strong experience design, leadership and delivery experience that will enable you to successfully engage across the business.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Significant experience in Experience design leadership including experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership, including hiring and developing senior managers and individual contributors.
  • Proven experience and demonstrable impact as a head of Design (or similar) in a relevant environment.
  • Leadership experience within digital transformation projects and design systems
  • Advance understanding of XD, service design, HCD, UX, UI and graphic design
  • User research and user testing methodology – advanced
  • Advanced written and visual storytelling
  • A strong work ethic, sense of business urgency, and ability to work effectively to deadlines
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
