Exciting Head of Finance role with a state agency based in South Dublin has just come to the market!
This role involves ensuring the efficient delivery of finance, procurement, data governance, risk management, legal and compliance services ensuring adherence and compliance with the agencies policies and procedures and the delivery key strategic projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, etc)
  • Must have proven experience in a senior finance management role
  • Relevant finance, governance or accounting qualification at degree level.
  • Experience of leading a Finance team or governance functions with the capacity to quickly acquire an understanding of, and appreciation for, the agencys role and objectives and of the context within which it operates.
  • Experience of implementing best practice corporate governance.
  • Experience of implementing significant change management projects.
  • Experience of working with Government Departments and State Agencies at a senior level

Responsibilities:

  • Support governance and strategy by generating annual, monthly, and ad hoc reports, along with other necessary briefing materials.
  • Guide the creation and regular review of financial policies and procedures manuals, as well as all other governance and compliance policies and SOPs.
  • Stay updated on developments and ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare annual financial statements.
  • Coordinate with auditors and oversee all financial and governance audits, both internal and external.
  • Supervise, monitor, and enhance all financial and compliance information systems.
  • Oversee various finance aspects, including fixed assets, banking, income, payments, creditors, travel expenses, and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance across procurement, parliamentary questions, GDPR, FOI, and AIE.
  • Manage grant financial assessments and contribute to application review/approval processes.
  • Lead, inspire, and foster the growth of staff, including performance management.
  • Take on ad-hoc projects as necessary.
  • Manage funding, budgets, and cash flow.
  • Lead budget preparation and offer guidance and engagement to senior management regarding their budgets and finance governance within their areas of responsibility.
