At Cambrium, we’ve successfully developed an innovative product for the skincare market;. But we’re just at the beginning, our world-class research team is already working on new products for - amongst others - the fashion and nutrition industry. We are now gearing up to bring these products to market and scale our operations. To lead this critical phase from a financial perspective, we’re in search of a Head of Finance & Operations who shares our passion and purpose.
Your role
You’ll be responsible for all things finance, accounting, legal & supply chain, playing a central role in our journey to success. Over the next 18 months, we will prepare the organization for a strong Series A round and we will need your help to further develop excellent financial systems & operations to get there. It will be a very hands-on role in the beginning, requiring entrepreneurial abilities & resilience. After the Series A, we believe that this role can and should develop further into a more senior and strategic position with substantial team responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement structural, legal and operational foundation of the organization in direct collaboration with the CEO
- Own and proactively develop end-to-end Finance function and related tasks, e.g. fund prioritization, budgeting and daily finance operations (payroll, benefits, etc.) as well as fundraising support
- Lead the supply chain strategy definition and translation into an operational roadmap and milestones through the synthesis of key internal and external insights
- Drive the key strategic and operational efficiency levers, owning and implementing high-priority initiatives
- Manage and coordinate legal affairs to safeguard the organization’s compliance
Your profile
- BA/BS in business or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Masters or MBA a plus
- Significant experience in finance, accounting or legal with at least 5+ years of relevant experience
- Ambiguity is not something that you fear, instead, you are driven by rapid change and meet it with your problem-solving mindset
- Previous experience in building teams/organizations in fast-growing startup(s) is a plus
- Previous experience in a company selling & shipping goods
- Previous experience in collaborating with R&D teams is a plus
- Entrepreneurial drive, willingness to take responsibility, high ambition, and the ability to achieve goals collaboratively
- Excellent verbal and written communication (DE/EN) and interpersonal skills in order to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
