About the role
We design, build and operate hybrid and private 4G and 5G networks for customers in the most complex, dispersed and hard-to-manage places. Our dynamic private networks meet the needs of all-size organisations across multiple industries.

In this newly created position, the Head of Finance for the Private Networks Europe (PNE) business will have three key elements and areas of focus:

  • To support the business pursue and win profitable deals.
  • To ensure that projects are delivered on Budget.
  • To support the executive team to develop and deliver value creating strategies.

Reporting to the CEO of the Private Networks Europe business, the role also includes the responsibility for the financial forecasting, planning, governance and reporting of the PNE including all its subsidiaries – and associated Executive support – including managing a small and agile finance team.
We will consider UK, Spain or Finland as locations for this role.
What you’ll be doing
This is a strategic role that also requires hands on and operational focus and delivery so you will need to be comfortable working in this way. Success in this role will be enabling revenue growth, EBITDA and IRR performance as well as delivering on time, accurate planning and reporting (Budget, LTP, Monthly report, Sales Forecast). You will work with a variety of stakeholders across the PNE business as well as the wider Boldyn group so we’re looking for someone collaborative, who can influence and has an engaging communication style.

Planning and Reporting

  • Lead and develop the Planning and Reporting team to deliver clear, accurate and insightful forecasting & reporting for the PNE
  • Responsibility for the PNE’s annual Budget and Long-Term Planning processes. Partner with the Executive team to ensure that the assumptions within the LTP are supported by clear and achievable strategies
  • Provide pro-active leadership to the PNE’s operating companies to ensure that the monthly, yearly and long term forecasting process and annual Budget process results in clear, owned financial plans, with accurate assumptions and phasing
  • Develop high quality, clear, timely and accurate reporting for the Board and Executive team ensuring information presented is valuable to stakeholders
  • Partner with Boldyn Executive Team to define the appropriate metrics and targets for PNE
  • Liaise with the Group’s shareholders to ensure that they receive appropriate support to achieve their planning and reporting requirements

Financial controlling and reporting

  • Ensure development and implementation of appropriate accounting policies and controls for the Group
  • Lead and develop the Financial Forecasting and Reporting team in the monthly and annual preparation of the financial statements for the PNE, including the financial statements of the PNE and subsidiary companies.
  • Develop and maintain an effective and collaborative relationship with the external auditors to ensure that key accounting issues are identified early in the process, and actions put in place to address the issues

Executive financial support and board reporting

  • Support PNE CEO and Executive team to grow the business.
  • Support the PNE CEO to develop the agenda for the Audit and Risk Committee, and to deliver high quality papers and recommendations to support the effective governance of PNE
  • Provide direct advice and high-quality analysis to the PNE CEO and other Group Executives on projects as required
  • Be forward thinking in terms of issues associated with structuring, compliance and accounting.
  • Provide modelling and calculation support to the PNE Human Resources Officer and Group Finance Director in defining the remuneration schemes for the business (in particular Executive Long Term Incentive Plans and Sales Compensation Plans)

Taxation

  • Lead and develop high quality taxation advice to the PNE CEO and Group
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and experts and external advisors in all jurisdictions to ensure high quality and effective tax planning advice is generated and implemented
  • Understand tax implications for all significant transactions and ensure the most tax effective outcomes are achieved for PNE

Treasury

  • In conjunction with the Group Treasury Manager, ensure the capital structure of PNE is appropriate and that the PNE Treasury Strategy is monitored and adhered to
  • Understand the impacts of each refinance of the business and ensure refinance is executed on best market terms available

M&A

  • Lead or support financial and taxation due diligence and review for all M&A opportunities (and partner with legal)
  • Identify or support in identifying the most appropriate advisors for each transaction
  • Understand structuring, implementation, accounting and taxation impacts for each transaction

Subsidiary relationships

  • Establish open working relationships with key stakeholders in the each subsidiary
  • Identify areas of support for subsidiaries and potential PNE resources to assist

Effective teams

  • Lead and develop an engaged, expert and efficient PNE Finance team with clear accountabilities within the team, and capability development plans as appropriate

What you’ll bring

Are you someone who enjoys engaging with a variety of stakeholders, working with vendors and partners and you want to join a growing business? If you have the following experience, we would love to hear from you:

  • 10-15 years of experience in senior finance and management roles
  • Proven, recent experience in relevant domains including FP&A, corporate finance and M&A, treasury, financial controlling and taxation is a necessity
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent industry standard finance, account, business accounting or economic qualification
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills
  • Fluent in English and in French or Spanish
