Description:

This is an exciting time for the finance team at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (QVH) as under the guidance of their Chief Finance Officer, the Trust is entering a period of transformation of which an important part is the strengthening of the finance team with strong leaders.
The Head of Financial Management will be a key member of the senior finance team responsible for providing expert financial support and strategic direction in relation to all aspects of Financial Management to Trust Directors and senior management whilst supporting the Deputy CFO and CFO. This role will be responsible for developing the team, providing stability, whilst also improving the financial reporting in line with the Trusts financial agenda.
The successful applicant will be a fully qualified member of a CCAB body with a solid background in financial management, have good communication and leadership skills with a focus on continuous improvement, able to manage change and inspire a team to be forward thinking, providing the Trust with the financial management information and expertise to enable the provision of the best possible standards of healthcare.
As the Head of Financial Management, you will provide leadership and direction to your team to deliver, manage and co-ordinate the monthly management accounting process, producing the monthly Finance Report to the Board of Directors, providing accurate and timely information on the Trust’s financial performance and KPIs whilst giving a true and fair view of the Trust’s financial position.
You will work closely with the Trust’s Executive Directors, Clinical Directors and Divisional Managers, to ensure that the Trust’s Clinical and Corporate Divisions are aware of their performance, ensuring actions are taken to achieve agreed financial targets and the Trust is on track for its strategic financial plans, supported with robust and accurate management information.
You will work with managers in the annual business planning cycle to ensure that the financial consequences of the business plan are investigated and understood, being able to challenge when required and building a finance team who feel empowered, acting as enablers and being the go-to for finance related queries, providing accurate and timely financial information that adds value to business planning.
