Head of HR Operations, Role Accountabilities
- Design, implement and oversee the HR shared services model, processes, policies and resources; resulting in the effective delivery and execution of transactional HR activities with lowest cost of HR operations, enabled and empowered employees/managers, and simplified HR business practices.
- Design, deploy and maintain HR analytical capabilities that enable business leaders and HR Partners to effectively carry-out duties and achieve targets relating to labour spend and talent management.
- Develop and implement processes, HR systems and frameworks for accurate management of employee data which support the efficiency and effectiveness of HR processes and provide expert advise for process and system improvements to the organization based on data trends.
- Oversee the review of HR procedures, as authorized by the executive, and in alignment with the COE’s review of policy, to determine the most efficient and effective execution (ie. to outsource, delegate, automate or centralize in shared services).
- Act as an HR liaison and representative for cross-functional projects involving HR systems and policies, as assigned, supporting the completion of projects on time and on budget while maintaining HR standards, policies and legislative requirements.
Head of HR Operations, Key Qualifications
- Post secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. HR certification(CHRP, CHRL) are a plus.
- 8-10+ years of progressive experience in HR (ideally within retail and/or supply chain), with at least five of those years as a people leader, managing a team of high performing HR professionals.
- Experience implementing and optimizing an HR shared services model to meet the users’ needs in the business and to enhance the employee experience
- Expertise in HR systems and a strong technical aptitude, with the ability to drive the capabilities of our HCM software
- Expert in data management and analysis, with the ability to draw insights from data to drive decision-making.
- Experience in change management, program design and roll out plan
- Considerable knowledge in Employee Relations and ESA legislation and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of provincial labour standards as they relate to payroll in all provinces
