Description:

At Ground Support, one of Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions’ newest divisions, we’re now looking for an agile and engaging leader to join us as Head of Human Resources – someone who has a passion for business and are eager to create a future direction where people aspects truly stand out.
We welcome you to a global, dynamic, and innovative arena where you get to contribute significantly to building our workplace culture and company success.
Some words about the division
We’re a leading manufacturer and supplier of ground support and reinforcement products, systems and solutions – serving underground mining and tunnelling customers worldwide. We’re passionate about driving progress and helping our customers work faster, smarter, safer, and more sustainable, and we believe that even the smallest improvements help making an incredible difference. Your mission
Leading a geographically diverse HR team, your job is about enhancing organizational performance from an HR perspective and in alignment with business needs – taking full ownership of the HR delivery and developing and implementing an HR strategy closely linked to our overall strategy. You provide professional guidance and advice to the Ground Support division APAC Executive and Management teams on HR-related employment and industrial relations matters, as well as development and change management. You’re also responsible for a wide range of HR matters and core processes within our organization - such as diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, remuneration, benefits, succession planning and performance management.
Acting in a global environment with many exciting encounters across both cultures and borders, you’re the number one promoter of excellent collaborations. You develop networks, establish partnerships and constantly touch base with the wider organization to ensure synergies and share knowledge. By working proactively, you ensure that we have the competence and resources we need to meet our strategy and achieve business goals. All in all, you contribute to an agile, value-driven and high performing organization – simply put, a great place to work!
You report to the Regional CEO of Ground Support (DSI Underground) and play an active role in the APAC management team. The preferred job location is Heatherbrae, NSW, Australia, while other locations could be considered for the right candidate. Some travel is included, both domestically and internationally.
Your profile
When it comes to background, you have a relevant university degree, or similar qualification, combined with several years’ experience in senior or leadership positions within HR – where you’ve acquired a strength and depth of knowledge across the wider HR scope. You have excellent skills within project management and situational leadership.

Your background includes:

  • Working with senior management in delivering HR outcomes aligned with strategic goals.
  • Working closely and effectively with EHS and Payroll teams.
  • Effectively leading and coaching a geographically diverse HR team.
  • Proven experience of applying current Australian employment legislation, including RTW legislation in NSW, QLD & WA.

And beneficially also:

  • Working knowledge of the Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or heavy industry.
  • Experience with Workday HCM and Definitiv payroll systems.

Yes, your background is important, but we’re equally passionate about your personality. You’re a good listener, a committed doer and an exceptional communicator – someone who easily interacts, builds trust and always leave a positive impact. This includes the ability to effectively negotiate and influence with all levels of staff and management and manage conflicting priorities. With your strong deductive and problem-solving ability, you show the way, deliver results and encourage improvements. Acting as a role model in relation to people management is in your DNA, and you take pride in bringing an inclusive perspective where differences are both considered and valued. At the end of the day, you inspire us to be an employer of choice!
