Job Description

  • Develop & implement the Group Workers Compensation Strategy
  • Lead a team of Workers Compensation specialists
  • Ensure alignment with the Group Safety & Health strategy

The Head of Injury Management provides strategic leadership in managing workers compensation and injury management at Endeavour. The role is responsible for developing and implementing the Group Workers Compensation Strategy, ensuring alignment with the Group Safety & Health strategy.
Lead a team of Workers Compensation specialists and build consistent best practice processes and procedures across the different portfolios, to maximise outcomes for injured team members and the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an effective end to end Group Workers Compensation Strategy, ensuring alignment with the Group Safety & Health Strategy and overarching business strategy
  • Collaborate closely across all portfolios in the business and lead a high performing team to deliver effective Workers compensation outcomes
  • Work closely with all brands, the People function, Legal, Treasury, Safety, and other relevant business areas to create plans to improve injury management outcomes and employee well-being
  • Develop and lead the process of handling workers’ compensation claims across varied business units and states, including coordinating with third party claims administrators, insurance providers, medical professionals, and legal teams to ensure appropriate resolution of all WC matters
  • Develop and manage programs that facilitate the safe and timely return of injured employees to the workplace across the group businesses and services
  • Stay informed about changes in workers’ compensation laws and regulations to ensure the organisation remains compliant and adjust policies and procedures accordingly
  • Monitor developments, trends, legislation and regulations related to Workers Compensation, evaluate their impact on business operations and communicate impacts to affected areas within the business
  • Implement transparent performance reporting and analyse data related to workplace injuries, claims, and costs to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Provide guidance on statutory reporting requirements for critical and fatal incidents, legislative breaches, and insurance claims
  • Develop and implement training initiatives to educate leaders and team members on workers’ compensation and return to work processes
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the workers’ compensation program
    Qualifications

  • Workers Compensation Management: Extensive experience in managing workers compensation across all jurisdictions, successfully developing and implementing strategies aligned with business and team outcomes.
  • Risk Mitigation and Workplace Safety: Identify workplace risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, demonstrate deep expertise in managing external and internal stakeholders and drive change across all levels, including senior executives.
  • Team Building and Culture: Inspire and build diverse teams, foster a culture of trust, inclusion, and collaboration. Articulate vision and enable transformation, utilising strong commercial acumen and understanding of retail fundamentals to drive performance and outcomes.
  • Customer Focus: Operate in a customer-centric environment, with customer outcomes central to decision-making, translating data and insights into meaningful action.
  • Adaptability and Innovation: Adapt effectively in complex and ambiguous environments, with an innovative and creative mindset, while maintaining a pragmatic and flexible approach to problem-solving.
  • (Desirable) Industry Experience: Experience in retail, hospitality, and wine production industries, with a background in state-based injury management and labour law.
