Description:

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years in a similar role of global infrastructure, supplier and IT operations management
  • Identifying new strategies and building formal business cases to support them
  • Wide DR knowledge including multiple platforms
  • Creating and running a robust CAB process
  • Enterprise level Infrastructure design
  • Expert knowledge of Information Security
  • Deep knowledge of OSI 7 layer model and its implications
  • Formal project management experience (e.g. PRINCE2)
  • Expert technical knowledge of TCP/IP
  • Detailed knowledge of cloud systems and their components (AWS\Azure)
  • High degree of expertise in Linux in an Enterprise environment
  • Windows Server domain and Active Directory administration
  • Network monitoring
  • Commercial backup systems
  • Experience creating and running an enterprise level, 24x7 global multi-site IT Service Desk

Desirable experience:

  • Experience tracking and managing IT Assets for a company
  • Firewall configuration
  • SQL Server (from a database backup/restore /maintenance perspective)
  • Replication and clustering
  • Budgetary control

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT RESTRICTED TO:

  • Leading and mentoring the current team of 6 staff
  • Providing technical oversight to existing technical team
  • Recruiting additional staff to grow the team including performing technical interviews
  • Assess viability of technical solutions
  • Day to day management of internal hardware (servers, desktops, printers, phones, firewalls, internet, PCs, DR and Backup systems etc.,) and software
  • Being the first point of contact for the Group CTO on infrastructure matters and issues
  • Leading and developing a best of breed Service Desk
  • Monitoring of systems to ensure everything is working correctly
  • Keeping on board with the latest technologies and building business cases for adoption where appropriate
  • Working with the Group CTO to produce new and innovative solutions and initiatives to improve IT efficiency and capability
  • Trouble shooting technical issues
  • Reporting issues and concerns to the Group CTO
  • Supporting the internal and external infrastructure and support teams and managing the support suppliers for the global offices
  • Performing deployments into the production systems
  • Administration of company systems (Windows 10/11/Windows Server/SQL Server), cloud (AWS\Azure), network, firewall, backup solutions and Microsoft 365
  • Formal project management of infrastructure projects
  • Management of hardware, software and service suppliers for the company, including contract negotiation
  • IT hardware and licence purchasing and tracking
  • Liaising with location services where necessary around the globe
  • Administration of SQL Server database servers (this is not a DBA role, but basic management of the servers will be necessary, e.g. backup and patching)
  • Horizon planning
  • Managing cloud servers (AWS, Azure) for both IaaS and PaaS systems
  • Managing IT budgets
