Description:

We have a permanent opportunity within a Fintech organisation for a Head of IT to be based in Fortitude Valley.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be expected to lead a team of Developers, Testers. Data Specialists and the IT operations team, who deliver and maintain internal proprietary applications.
Working with the leadership team on business priorities, you would be providing IT and security related advice, and actively participate in strategic projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Evolve and execute the technology strategy in line with the business strategy
  • Provide leadership to the technology team, fostering skill development, cohesion and performance
  • Maintain day to day technology operations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
  • Provide clear reporting and updates to the leadership team and board
  • Maintain, develop and implement the IT and Security Roadmap inline with the company’s overall goals
  • Infrastructure management: Design, implement and maintain the technology infrastructure, including hardware (Apple), software (SaaS) and proprietary stack (AWS)
  • Ensure the security and reliability of company systems, including cybersecurity measures, disaster recovery plans and BCP
  • Oversee and actively participate in the successful execution of technology projects, from solution design, development, testing and release
  • Champion the relationship between key stakeholders across the business and the technology function

What do you need to apply?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience leading technology initiatives and delivering project outcomes on time and on budget.
  • Proven track record of cultivating high-performing technology teams.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in developing and implementing IT strategies aligned with business objectives.

Technical environment:

  • AWS cloud technologies.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - python
  • Atlassian Suite (Jira, JSM, Confluence, Bitbucket)
  • Identity Access Management, RBAC, security frameworks including NIST, PCI-DSS, SOC2, ISO27001
  • Endpoint Management Systems (Mosyle, Google, Cloudflare, Okta)
  • Agile
