Every position at Compassion is in service of our Mission to ‘Release Children from Poverty, in Jesus Name’ and every employee is expected to live and model the Values. The position of Head of Marketing exists to develop and implement strategic campaigns and initiatives that increase brand awareness, conversion, and engagement across multiple channels and partnerships.
The role is required to lead, coach, and mentor a team of marketing professionals committed to amplifying Compassion’s Mission through a supporter-centric marketing approach. The position reports to the Executive Director: Neighbour Experience.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute marketing strategy for Compassion Australia, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s mission;
  • Develop innovative and customer-centric initiatives that achieve growth and engagement goals through traditional, digital, and relational channels;
  • Lead digital marketing efforts, including SEO, email marketing, social media, and online advertising, to drive awareness, acquisition, and engagement in key markets;
  • Monitor market trends and analyse marketing performance to assess effectiveness and adjust strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Champion the organisation’s strategy through coaching, leadership, and cross-functional support;
  • Support the Executive Director: Neighbour Experience and other leads;
  • Model Compassion’s values.

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Strong experience managing a Digital Marketing or Marketing team;
  • Experience developing and executing marketing campaigns;
  • Strong analytical and strategic marketing ability;
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills;
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Qualifications in Marketing, Fundraising, or other relevant discipline.

Desirable

  • Demonstrated Product Development and/or Market expansion experience;
  • Passion for Compassion Australia’s mission and values;
  • Experience in For Purpose (NFP) Sector.
