We are looking for an experienced Commercial Lines Pricing Leader to join us as Head of Mid Corp Pricing. Our Mid Corp portfolio covers Property, Casualty, Engineering, Motor Trade and Speciality Lines so is a broad and diverse book and the role holder will be comfortable leading the development of Pricing capability across this suite of products in line with our Global framework.
The role will have responsibility for both Technical and Street Pricing disciplines and will be responsible for working in partnership with the Underwriting teams to deliver our financial plan as well as setting strategy to evolve our capabilities for the future.
The role is multi-faceted and you will be comfortable considering ‘technology’ as well as ‘technical’ developments and managing senior stakeholders as well as a large team. You will also play a key role representing the UK into our Global departments and helping define and then bringing global best practice into our UK business.
We have a lot of activity underway in this space, with a Global Transformation programme developing new platforms and a roadmap of evolving capability. It’s a great time to time to join and be part of the journey.

ABOUT YOU

  • An experienced Senior Pricing Manager with significant experience leading teams and high profile pricing deliveries
  • You will have experience of managing multiple pricing portfolios simultaneously or end to end responsibility across disciplines for a single portfolio.
  • Ideally, your primary experience will be in Commercial lines Mid Corp pricing with some experience of large case pricing.
  • You will enjoy the complexity and creativity required when pricing within a Commercial Insurance environment and have significant experience working with Underwriters.
  • You will enjoy constantly seeking to innovate across all aspects of pricing, including data, software, tooling, technical approaches and the best means of collaboration with other teams to deliver pricing sophistication
  • You will be confident managing senior stakeholders
  • Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries or equivalent qualification with extensive relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Confident in understanding of Pricing & Actuarial software such as Emblem and Radar
  • Experience using tools such as Python, R, SQL, SAS,, Excel, VBA
  • Strong business acumen

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership and set strategic direction across all the components of Mid Corp Pricing. (Data development, Price model development, Pricing strategy, Pricing Tools etc)
  • Oversee the implementation of Pricing best practice into the UK business. Ensure we meet Allianz Global Technical Excellence standards and enable our Pricing capabilities to become ‘certified’.
  • Work with the various Underwriting teams to set pricing strategy and deliver the financial plan.
  • Engage with, and influence Senior Stakeholders across UK business and Allianz Group as Pricing Lead for this portfolio
  • Oversee increasing sophistication in tooling and processes to assist in ongoing efficiency improvement across team
  • Contribute to strategic decisions regarding future platform design, tooling and data delivery approach
  • Successfully lead, engage and develop capability across team of 20+
  • Contribute to the development of and uphold a robust governance framework ensuring alignment to developments in the regulatory environment
  • Responsible for Pricing Committee Proposals for this portfolio
